Doug Lipman –
These are my third pair of Orthofeet over the years. They are now my go-to brand of shoes!First, I have wide feet. Few shoe stores have anything wide enough. (I am glad NOT to continue the years I’ve spent slowly stretching out shoes that were a bit too narrow to start with. Orthofeet is one of the few brands to reliably make shoes suitable for E and EE widths!)Second, Orthofeet is a company that has worked hard to create shoes that are both 1) healthy for feet of all shapes and sizes, 2) reasonably good-looking; and 3) not jaw-droppingly expensive.Third, over the years, Orthofeet has come up with even MORE ways to allow customers to adjust the shoes to fit different sizes and shapes of feet: a) One way: these shoes come with three different inserts that can be inserted into the shoes before putting your foot in. Each insert has a slightly different thickness and shape, and they can be used individually or in any combination. That means that you can achieve seven different amounts and kinds of padding—going a long way toward guaranteeing that these shoes will be comfortable on your feet, no matter how high or low your arch is, etc. b) In addition, these shoes are quite light, so they add no unnecessary exertion while walking. Fortunately, the lightness doesn’t seem to reduce the support I need from them. In other words, the shoes are both light and supportive! c) A third way: these came with a “try before you buy” option (on Amazon, I believe)—which meant that I could wear these for a full week before deciding whether they truly fit.To assure myself that these shoes would give my feet the needed support when walking my dog on cement pavement for 2 miles or so a day, therefore, I was able to test them out for seven days of actual wear.By the way: to avoid making the shoes unreturnable after walking so far on pavement, I first bought some $15 “shoe protectors”—which are “oversocks” with elastic in the top part that goes around the ankle. (They are actually designed to allow you to wear “outdoor shoes” indoors, to avoid dirtying carpets). I was able to use these oversocks “in reverse,” so that I could try out the shoes IN the protectors over several days of long walks on pavement—without dirtying the shoes or picking up gravel in their soles.)The result: I was able to test that these shoes: A) fit me, and B) are comfortable on brisk, extended walks on hard pavement—all without risk of my being stuck with shoes that don’t suit my feet and the particular uses to which I put them.In short, there are three factors that make Orthofeet my new “go-to” shoe brand:1) The excellent design of the shoes themselves;2) The numerous ways to adjust the shoe fit, using up to three kinds of free orthotics in any combination;3) The chance to try them in real-world circumstances for a full week before deciding to keep them. For my budget, these shoes are on the high end (yet nowhere near the highest end). But three factors make me willing to pay more than “shoe store” shoes usually cost:1. The lack of risk of being stuck with shoes that don’t fit;2. The ability to try them out for a full week, in my own environment, before committing to buy them; and3. The overall combination of lightness, comfort, and support. In other words, these are thoughtfully designed, carefully manufactured, and sold with “try before you buy.”I am highly satisfied. I am highly unlikely to buy any other brand of shoes. And that’s why I’m happy to write such a long and positive review.I don’t see any drawbacks to trying out this remarkable brand of footwear—especially for those of us whose feet aren’t comfortable in the typical shapes and sizes of shoe-store shoes—and whose budgets don’t support purchases that may be useless but not returnable.Thank you, Orthofeet! You’re the shoe company I wish I had had my whole life!

As a diabetic, I was looking for a shoe more to protect my feet, rather than because I needed them due to a foot disorder. Although I have had Plantar Fasciitis years ago, the condition was cured by wearing orthotics. I ordered a larger size than I normally wear due to the fact that I wanted to make sure that I had plenty of room in the toes, and across the instep. While they were “somewhat large” for my feet, the fitting spacers were perfect in taking up the extra space that made them feel larger. I was excited when I got the shoes, and have been wearing them regularly for the past three weeks, and have been very happy with the way my feet feel in them. It was a little difficult getting used to the orthotic insole, as it has been years since I have worn any, but after a few days, I have grown very accustomed to the orthotic insole, and the extra cushioning that comes with the rest of the sole. I am happy that I made this purchase and am considering getting a pair in black, very soon. I may go a half size smaller the next time though. Thank you OrthoFeet for making my long hours of standing, much more bearable.

I’m on my feet a lot for work and we have to wear polishable brown leather. These look and feel great! I had developed a bunionette that was one of the most painful things I’ve experienced. I ordered larger and wider than i have before. These shoes allowed it to heal. Great shoes!

Read þe description, I do not want to repeat it here. Þe shoes feel great. I tried about six different brands of shoes for fasciitis and þis is þe only one þat I got any pain relief from. Þey come wiþ several different insole adjusters to make þe fit comfortable. Highly recommend.

When you are young, you can get away with wearing cheap shoes. Eventually, however, you get older, and then the quality of your shoes will matter—a LOT. These shoes are fantastic. Custom orthotics slip right in, replacing the removable factory insert.I have plantar fasciitis, and had tried any number of over-the-counter inserts. Frankly, no store-bought insert will help you for more than a few hours or days. These shoes have plentiful cushion and more arch support than most, even with the factory insert. Other inserts and spacers are included in the box. I wish there was optional thicker plastic arch support for those who yet need more. These shoes are not expensive. They look great. They fit great. They should last a year or two with daily use. I have bought half a dozen Orthfeet shoes, including the dress shoes, sneakers and boots, and have been happy with every pair. I hope the Orthofeet brand is around to stay.

As far as arch support you are given several different options to test out! Orthotic plastic inserts and I believe 3 insoles. I have used just the way the come and I do not need anything added. They are very comfortable and provide excellent support. I have walked several miles multiple times in them. I never wear the same shoes on back to back days. They are a little hot to wear and the shoe strings need to be tied more than I like. Only probably I might see as the durability if used daily. I will definitely consider buying more of this brand.

I got these shoes for a man in his 50s that suffers from Diabetes and has a surgical wound under his right foot that needs re-dressing and attention often. This has even caused him to have to walk on crutches at times and employ the use of a small scooter to get around when its bad. These shoes seem to make him much more comfortable and he walks around much more than before. The relief he has with the design is clear when he expresses how much the shoes have helped him.The shoes come with two additional innersoles that can be used to increase comfort, however he is happy with them just as is.The pictures do this shoe design justice as they look the same classy way in person. The stitching is strong and the leather is very solid. This pair is the one he uses on more business/formal events and he seems very happy with them.Compared with much more expensive options, I believe that the Orthofeet line of orthopedic shoes is unbeatable due to their stylish design, comfort level and high durablility. Most importantly, they run exactly true to size.I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a comfortable pair of shoes, especially people who are on their feet for extended periods of time or who have medical ailments that properly designed shoes can help with. These shoes do not compromise on fashion either, so rest assured that they will also look nice and classy.

I decided to try these since I need to dress shoes for my flat feet. I was a devoted vionic customer for years, but they’re oxfords are not made at the same quality of other products.By the time I tried ortho feet my feet were sore from the and And they literally took the pressure and pain away in a very short time. The shoe strike the right balance of stability and weight (Not too heavy but not too light). I was so happy that I purchased the same shoes and brown. My only complaint is that the front toe rubber is wearing down and peeling off pretty quickly.
